William J. Urquhart, M.D.

William J. Urquhart,.M.D. has been in private practice in Mobile since 1982. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and while there was a member of several college honorary societies. He went on to obtain a degree in medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1978. His four years of specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology was done at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Dr. Urquhart received his Board Certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1984. He is a Diplomat of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. In addition, he is a member of several state and local medical societies. He was elected Chief of Staff at Springhill Memorial Hospital in 1996. He has also been Chief of Gynecology at Doctors Hospital. His patient interests include infertility, family oriented obstetrics, outpatients treatment for menstrual bleeding, uterine fibroid surgery, and laser laparoscopy. He was voted, by his peers, into Best Doctors in American in 2005-2006 and again in 2007-2008. Dr. Urquhart was one of the first physicians to perform hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation procedures in the Mobile area, and is one of only two Mobile physicians accredited by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy for advanced operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. He received the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medial Association in 1993, 1996, and again in 1999.

Dr. Urquhart has been married to the former Marietta Murray of Mobile since 1975. They have two daughters. He is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys golf, fishing and traveling.




James Q. Jardine, M.D.

James Q. Jardine, M. D. is a Board Certified specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Jardine has been practicing in Mobile since 1985. He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Jardine is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was recently recertified in 1997. Dr. Jardine received a BA Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in 1977. He majored in chemistry and physics at Vanderbilt. Dr. Jardine went on to receive his M. D. from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham in 1981.

He subsequently performed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University through June 1985. He then relocated to his hometown of Mobile for the private practice of obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Jardine is a member of numerous professional societies. He is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Vanderbilt OB/GYN Society. He is also a member of the AMA, State of Alabama Medical Association and Mobile County Medical Society. Dr. Jardine has been a member of the Board of Directors of Springhill Memorial Hospital for a number of years. He has served as Chairman of this Governing Body of Springhill Memorial Hospital over the preceding four years. Dr. Jardine has also served on numerous hospital committees and as a representative to the Alabama Section of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Jardine also has an interest in diving medicine. He has attended several seminars sponsored by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society for continuing medical education pertaining to the physical fitness evaluation of recreational divers. He would be happy to discuss physical fitness for recreational diving with patients in our practice. In addition to scuba diving, Dr. Jardine enjoys playing golf. Children include son Bo, and daughters Khaki and Ashley.


Danilo V. Herrera, M.D.

Danilo V. Herrera, M.D., is a native of San Jose, Costa Rica. He is a graduate of the University of Costa Rica School of Medicine, receiving honors for academic excellence. Dr. Herrera completed his internship and specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1988 and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Herrera is a member of the Mobile County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Costarican College of Doctors and Surgeons, and The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Herrera has been practicing medicine in Mobile since 1988.

He is a member of the Catholic church. Dr. Herrera and his wife, Joan, have two daughters, Carla and Chrissy. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Herrera enjoys playing tennis and chess.

Ian H. Thorneycroft, Ph.D., M.D.

Ian H. Thorneycroft Ph.D., M.D. is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. He received his specialty training at the University of Southern California and his subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCLA. He is board certified in both and is the only physician board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in the Mobile area.

He is a member of numerous medical societies and has published over 100 articles in scientific journals. He was Chairman of the OB/GYN department at the University of South Alabama for almost 10 years.

Erin Saucier, M.D.

Erin Saucier, MD attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from USM in 1992 and a Master of Professional Accountancy from USM in 1993. She worked for the certified public accounting firms of Horne CPA Group in Laurel, MS and Jim Ryall, CPA of Mobile before returning to school to pursue a degree in medicine. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine..

Her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was completed at the University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital. While there, she was awarded Best Intern in her first year, and Best Ob/Gyn Resident in her third and fourth years of residency. She served as the administrative Chief Resident from February 2005 through April 2006. She also won first place in the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine, Department of Ob/Gyn, Hiram W. Mendenhall, MD Memorial Resident Research Day 2006. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Mobile County Medical Society.

Originally from Laurel, Mississippi, she now calls Mobile her home. She and her husband, Charles Saucier, a CPA and local businessman, have been married since 1994. They have a son, Charles, born in February 2006. Besides spending time with her family she enjoys reading, painting, and gardening.



C. Brooke Lenz, M.D.

C. Brooke Lenz, M.D. attended college at the University of Mobile where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. She then continued her education at the University of South Alabama where she obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree and completed internship and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

During her time at the University of South Alabama she was named Best Intern in 2008. In 2009 she received the honor of Best High Risk Obstetrics Resident. In 2010 she was again named Best High Risk Resident as well as Best Endocrinology and Best Gynecology Resident. In her Final Year of Residency she held the position of Administrative Chief Resident, received second place at the Hiram H Mendenhall, MD Resident Research Day for her work on endometrial cancer and was named Best Resident in Medical Student Clinical Education. She also held the honor of Best Gynecologic Oncology Resident, Best Endocrinology Resident, Best Obstetrics Resident, and received the AAGL Award in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.

Dr. Lenz is trained in robotic surgery and minimally invasive gynecology and enjoys forming relationships with her patients to assist them in making informed decisions regarding their healthcare. She takes a special interest in preventive medicine and in caring for women throughout the stages of their lives from young adult through their reproductive years and after menopause.

Dr. Lenz is from Bay Minette, Alabama and now lives in Mobile with her husband, Michael, and two children, Samuel and Ryland. Her primary interest apart from medicine is spending time with her family, but she also enjoys cooking and reading. She has been a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church since 2003 and holds memberships with multiple medical societies as well.


John M. Val-Gallas, M.D.

John M. Val-Gallas, M. D. relocated to Mobile in 1992, from St. Pete, Florida, where he had been in private OB/GYN practice and also served as adjunct OB/GYN faculty at Bayfront Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency Program.

Dr. Val-Gallas received his B.S. degree with honors from UT Houston, and was an undergraduate Who's Who nominee. Following this, he earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern in Dallas, and completed both his internship and residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Val-Gallas is board certified in OB/GYN, is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and the Medical Society of Mobile County. He has served as chairman of OB/GYN at both Springhill Medical Center and Providence Hospital, and is a former president of the medical staff at Springhill Medical Center.

Dr. Val-Gallas' interests include normal and high risk obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, laser surgery, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He is married with one child, and enjoys hiking and fishing as his recreational activities.
